C-Band is still alive and will be with us for a long time!
What is C-Band Satellite TV?
C-Band is a term used to describe satellite signals which you can receive TV broadcasts from satellite dishes from 5 feet up to 12 feet and larger.
C-band was developed back in the 1960s and 1970s. ATT&T Telstar was the first commercial C-Band satellite. The first home satellite TV systems arrived on the market by 1980 at a cost of around $4500.00 and usually used a 12 foot dish. The parts for C-Band Satellite System with a Motorola 4DTV digital C-Band Receiver and 7.9 foot solid dish system now cost under $1500.00
What is on C-Band?
Most people that own C-Band systems just love them and do not want to get rid of them because C-Band has the highest quality picture, better than Dish Network and better than DirecTV. On C-Band you can buy just the programs you want, the only minimum order is 5 channels of your choice. There are many free channels on C-Band. C-Band is what the cable companies use to get most of their signals. DirecTV and Dish Network also use C-Band to get their signals and then they re-broadcast the signals to their mini dish customers, because of the re-boadcast the picture qualty is diminished compared to C-Band. Most cable programing is still on C-Band and will be for years to come but it has gone digital and you need a Motorola 4DTV digital C-Band receiver to get the C-Band digital cable programs.
You can also add a Free to Air receiver to your C-Band system and get more free programs that are on C-Band that your present receiver is unable to pick up.
We still carry complete C-Band systems and parts to keep your present C-Band system running perfect.
